My name is Peter Kasii Murmet, also known as Peter Dio, a proud son of Sitoka village in Kimintet Ward. I am the Founder and Chairperson of the Siria Hills Climate-Talent Initiative CBO, a grassroots, community-led organization dedicated to protecting our girls, empowering youth, and promoting sustainable livelihoods across rural Narok.

 

As a radio presenter at Sidai FM, I speak daily to over 3.5 million Maasai people in Kenya and Tanzania. I use this powerful platform to amplify the silent struggles in our villages—girls dropping out of school due to FGM, early marriage, and poverty, youth lacking opportunities, and communities battling climate stress with little support.

 

I founded this CBO not as an outsider, but as a witness to deep injustice—as someone who grew up walking the same long paths to school, seeing bright futures dimmed too early.

 

Today, I stand with my people to lead change from within—building safe schools like Kimintet Sidai Academy, creating awareness through radio, and working with local leaders and donors like you to restore dignity, access, and hope.

My name is Cicilia Martine Sapalan. I’m a widow, a mother, and the Secretary of our CBO.

 

I help keep things organized—taking minutes, preparing reports, and ensuring everything we do is clear and accountable. But my greatest passion is working with women. I go from village to village, listening, encouraging, and helping women come together to support one another and build better lives.

 

I know what it means to feel alone. That’s why I choose to walk with others.

Meet Mary Kini Seme, 26, a mother of two and a passionate advocate for girls in Sitoka village. Raised in a community where FGM, early marriage, and limited education for girls are common, Mary understands the struggles these girls face every day.

 

As Treasurer of the Siria Hills Climate-Talent Initiative CBO, Mary ensures that every donation is used to provide education and safe spaces for girls. Beyond managing funds, she leads by example, helping families recognize the importance of educating their daughters and offering them the opportunities she once lacked.

 

Mary’s fight is personal. Once a girl walking miles to school, she now works to ensure that no girl in Sitoka has to choose between education and safety.
