Where a Child Walks 10 Kilometres for Hope... Let’s Build a School That Walks to Them

Kimintet Sidai Academy | Narok County, Kenya

In a quiet part of Narok County, a child wakes up before sunrise.

Not to catch a school bus — there isn’t one.

Not to eat a full breakfast — that’s rare.

But to walk. For miles. Just to find a place to learn.

And some days, there’s no school at the end of that walk.

Because the school is too far. Or full. Or doesn’t exist at all.

We are changing that.

🏫 Why We’re Building Kimintet Sidai Academy

In our community, education is not guaranteed. It’s often not even encouraged.

Instead, tradition tells girls they should marry early.

It tells boys their future is in the field, not the classroom.

And it tells parents that school is a luxury, not a necessity.

But here’s what we believe:

A girl deserves a safe classroom more than a wedding dress.

A boy deserves books, not burdens.

And no child — ever — should walk 10 kilometres just for the chance to dream.

This is why Kimintet Sidai Academy must exist.

"Sidai" means good — and that’s what this school will be.

A good place. A safe place. A close place. A start.

🔨 What We’re Building — and Why It Matters Now

We’re not just building walls. We’re breaking cycles.

Phase One includes:

🔋 A Solar-Powered Electric Fence – KSh 350,000 for a secure site that runs on sunlight

📐 Permits & Approvals – KSh 600,000 to meet all legal, architectural, and safety requirements

🧱 Three Modern Classrooms – KSh 1.5M each, designed to inspire and include

🚻 Toilets for Boys & Girls – KSh 600,000 to offer dignity, privacy, and hygiene

We’ve included our full Bill of Quantities (BoQ) so you can see exactly where your support goes.

These aren’t just structures. They’re shields. They’re invitations. They’re answers to prayers whispered by children who just want to learn.

💬 This School Isn’t Just Needed — It’s Overdue

Some children in this ward have never seen the inside of a real classroom.

Some girls have dropped out before they ever learned to write their names.

Some boys were herding cattle before they ever held a pencil.

And yet, they still hope.

They still ask, “When will our school come?”
